LOVE BIRDS IN A BRANCH CARD

Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here with another fun card to share with you. In February love is in the air, and I found that these Love Birds are perfect for this fact.

To make my card I am using "only" one piece from Unique Laser Designs, I said only because I want to have everything. This is a gorgeous cut called Love Birds, available in wood and chipboard. I used the chipboard presentation.

I decided to give each bird different colors using chalk ink in soft colors. I used the New Collection of PowderPuff Chalk Ink of Quick Quotes in the colors Peach Tree, Latte, Antique Linen and Cherry Blossom from right to the left. For the branch I used two different tones of green Faber Castell PITT Artistic Pen big brushes.

Note that I applied the chalk ink directly to the each bird and I masked each color to avoid any mixing. For the bird beak and eye I used a Crumb Cake Marker, just to intensify the color.

With the same marker I colored the letters that come inside of the Love Birds to made the Kraft color more intensive.

Now that my central piece was finalized, I cut two different borders in Whisper White cardstock using a Leafy Border from Memory Box and Foliage Border from Darice, to use them on the bottom of my card. And for the body of the card I used  a plain cardstock for the base, a designer series paper for the second layer and a third layer of vellum to made the colors of the designer paper more soft.

I assembled all the pieces with snail adhesive and glue dots and finally pasted on top the Love Birds with dimensionals.

To make my card a little more delicate I pasted a few lilac pearls in the center of the flowers of the Designer Series Paper.

Materials:

  • Love Birds - Unique Laser Designs
  • 2015 PowderPuff Chalk Ink - Quick Quotes
  • Faber Castell PITT Artistic Pen
  • Leafy Border - Memory Box
  • Foliage Border - Darice
  • BigShot
  • Cardstock
  • Designer Series Paper
  • Vellum
  • Pearls
  • Snail Adhesive and Dimensional

I hope you like this idea, because working with these laser cuts is very fun and you can create whatever you want, using different techniques and process or simply leaving the cuts in their natural stage.

See you soon with other idea to make together!

ROSE FOR SPRING CARD

Hi friends, Martha Lucia here with you to share a sweet card with a Rose Cut Out in chipboard, one of the great products from Unique Laser Designs that I used to create my card.

This is the original Rose without any alterations. This flower  called Rose is available in MDF, Chipboard and cork. Also in two different sizes, 4-1/2"x3-1/4" the size that I used and 2"x1-1/2". In any form that you decide to use it´s beautiful, because you can decorate it with a lot of techniques to get different looks and textures like I made with mine.

This time I decided to work with PowderPuff Chalk Inks from Quick Quotes Scrapbook Company. Their colors are vibrant and the texture is very soft at the same time.

I applied the color directly from the ink pad over the flower. I started with the leaves using the colors Soft Sage and Kakhi. Then I continued with the body of the flower, using the colors Coral and Orange Slice. The PowderPuff Chalk Ink dried very quick and when I was satisfied with the color, I covered the entire flower with Wink of Stella Brush to give it a bling.

To finish my card I created a base with Pistachio Pudding Card Stock with a second layer in the same color. I made a dry embossing to the second layer using a Plaid Background Embossing Folder and inked it with the same color of Classic Ink to create a tone by tone background.

To give m card a more delicate look, to go with my Rose, I cut a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I pierced the vertical borders and stamped my sentiment on top with Versamark and Embossing Powder Wild Wasabi

Remember to heat the vellum when your heat tool reaches a stable temperature and to always heat from behind to avoid the paper bursting into flames.

After this, I pasted the vellum centered behind the Rose with glue dots and covered the glue dots with  little pearls.

Working with good quality products and finishes from Unique Laser Designs definitely makes our creations representative of us and allows us to express our creativity in the est way. That's why in the ULD Store you will find a wide variety of products for all styles and activities. I invite you to visit the ULD Store to fall in love with all of them like me.

GARDEN OF LOVE

Happy New Year!!!
Hello everyone, it's Martha Lucia here today and it's so good to share a card I've made using the Tree Bare, one of my favorite cut out embellishments! When I saw this cut out in the Unique Laser Design Store, I just knew I had to get my hands on it.

I started by creating my card in a 6"x6" size over textured white card stock (close). Then I created all the pieces to decorate my card in my Cricut Explore using the Design Space. With this program I cut the grass, the fence, the clouds and the small hearts.

After this small process, I started to work with my Tree Bare. This product is available in wood, chipboard and cork. I chose mine in chipboard to use with distress inks and markers to give texture and color. I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to get the wood color and for the end of the branches I used  PITT artist pen big brush from Faber Castell in colors Light Green and Earth Green.

Then I took all my paper pieces and began the big process, but don't be scared. It was very easy! I just cut a square of bashful blue cardstock and pasted it over the base of my card. Also I cut a frame in textured cardstock (red) and pasted it over the entire base and using dimensionals and glue dots I stuck each of the parts beginning by the clouds, tree bare and last one the fence.

After this part, I pasted the fences and using Tombo Multi Liquid Glue I started to paste the hears over the branches.

To finalize the project, I cut and embossed a little butterflies with the embosslits Beautiful butterflies from Stampin Up and pasted these with dimensionals.

Materials:
Tree Bare - UNIQUE LASER DESIGN, Cricut Explore, Cardstock, Adhesives, Big Shot, Embosslits Beautiful Butterflies.

I really liked the simplicity and colors of this project and how the tree bare gave the real touch to my garden of love. I hope you liked too. Happy crafting!

Feliz Navidad... A Custom Item !!!

Hi everyone, Martha Lucia is here with new projects to show you. A custom item I had made by Unique Laser Designs. As you remember my first language is Spanish and Feliz Navidad translates to Merry Christmas.

With these beautiful cuts I decided to create three different cards, each one using a different technique to show you how easy it is to work with these chipboard pieces. Let me show you:

Card # 1:

I wanted this card to be very clear and luminous. To make this I used cardstock in Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple and White Vellum.

The first thing that I made was cover with Raspberry Ripple Classic Ink my laser cut or chipboard piece. To cover this completely, I put it over the ink pad  and used a piece of paper to press it lightly.

Then, I created the base card using a Whisper White cardstock, a second layer in Raspberry Ripple and pasted a third layer decorated with dry embossing, using a Birds in Flight embossing folder from Darice and a Big Shot Machine.

The next piece of paper, was a tag created in Vellum. I pasted my laser cut over this piece using a few glue dots to keep the paper's transparency.

The final touches were a few Resting Birds from Memory Box that I cut in Golden Glimmer Metal Sheet from Add a Little Dazzle and a little cord of red and white Bakers Twine from The Twinery.

I pasted the birds over the vellum with Multi Tombo Liquid Glue, but I pasted the entire tag over my card with a little pieces of stampin dimensionals, that I placed right where the birds were to keep the transparency.

Card # 2:

To create this card I used the same custom item that I show at the beginning of this post. But in this opportunity I used a different technique and product to give my card another look.

My card is completely Real Red. The second layer had a special design that I created using the Basket Wave Background Embossing Folder from Darice and a Big Shot Machine.

To give the color to my laser cut or chipboard piece I used Sparkle N Soft, a mixed flocking with a touch of glitter in Glistening Emerald color. The only thing that you need to do is apply liquid glue over the entire cardboard piece, then totally cover it with the Sparkle N Soft and press over it with your hands. Easy peasy! If you need to remove the excess you can use a brush or paper tweezers.

Finally I pasted the decorated pieces over my base card using Multi Tombo Liquid Glue and I decided to add two gold sequins to give it a party touch.

Card # 3:

Can you believe that this laser cut is in its natural stage and it looks that amazing?
This is one of the best things when you ordered custom items or you buy something from Unique Laser Designs Store. The presentation of the product is the best. You can use them just how they come so I wanted to show you this.

To make this card I only created the background and pasted my laser cut over the front part.

To color the background I used three different colors of classic ink, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay from Stampin Up applied with a blending tool. Note that I masking the bottom part to create a scenery.

After coloring, I cut an oval using framelit. Also I cut five white pieces with the same oval using the same cardstock. After cutting all I started to paste the white ovals in the same place where the color oval was. The last piece to paste was the colored part.

Then I pasted the laser cut over the decorated piece using a Multi Tombo Liquid Glue. I stamped around some little stars and pasted rhinestones.

The final step was paste the entire decorated piece of cardstock over my card base.

As you can see the three cards are totally different. The laser cut was the same and the techniques were very simple and maybe this is the best part, with the Unique Laser Designs products you can create whatever you want and you have the possibility to create you own designs and made just for you.

Finally, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and God's Blessings for you and your families. I hope to see you next year with more creative ideas and more inspiration.
