My Angel Wings

Hi there, it's Martha Lucia here! I hope you are very inspired with all our creations. Today I want to invite you to fly with me. I am using the Angel Wings to create a beautiful frame.

When I saw these wings, I knew I wanted to do something special. So I decided to create a frame that I can exhibit in my Atelier and show you all my spirit. I starting to give color to the Angel Wings. I chose these in MDF, but they are available in chipboard too. For my wings I used a product called Inka Gold in color Turquoise mixed with water.

You can apply the Inka Gold directly over the wings with you hands. The MDF or Wood material perfectly keeps the metallic shine of this product.

After I finished the wings, I created the background of my frame. I bought a plain frame from IKEA, I took off the papers  and sized the total window and my real space was 5"x7".

I took a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and a Memory Box Stencil called Distressed Grid and using a blending tool and Antique Linen Distress Ink to create the texture.

The next step was the flower. To create this I used a Spellbinders Die called Spiral Blossom Four that I cut in very vanilla card stock using the BigShot.

To give more dimension to the flower I decided to apply this Powder Puff Chalk Ink Caribbean Blue from Quick Quotes all over the border. This  color offered my the perfect match that I needed.

After this, I rolled up the flower and pasted it with my glue gun of silicone. To decorate the center of the flower I put a Doubleclick Skittle in the same color from So Suzy Stamps.

The final step was pasting all over the background. First I inserted the decorated very vanilla piece into the frame and then I pasted all my pieces with sheer glue.

Here you will see a few close details all my angel wings.

Materials:

Wood Frame, Inka Gold Turquoise, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Memory Box Stencil Distress Grid, Distress Ink Antique Linen, Blending tool, BigShot, Spiral Blossom, Powder Puff Chalking Ink Caribbean Blue Quick Quotes, DoubleClick Skittle, Liquid Glue, Silicone.

I hope my project inspired you to create something special. You will find great cuts with different styles and designs in Unique Laser Designs Store. I recommend this to you! See you soon!

Frames and Family Connected

I am connecting with my family today...literally.  Connecting my family with these frames and glue!

Being on the Unique Laser Designs Design Team is awesome, but they keep adding new items to their inventory and I keep adding to my very long wish list! As soon as I saw these beautiful "deco frames", I knew I wanted to connect them for a collage.

Even though I think they would be spectacular unpainted, I decided to add some vibrant hues with acrylic paint and turn my photos to black and white.

Connecting these intricate frames was a bit tricky, but after some experimentation, I found that hot glue covered with some acrylic packaging scraps on the backside of the frames seemed to be the best way to go. You can see a close-up on this picture above.

You know Mother's Day is right around the corner...

MR & MRS

...hey there!!....Debbie with StudioBeeCreations...
here I have my latest canvas using several
pieces.....I am soooooo in love with this awesome product!
GREAT for cardmaking...scrapbooking and MIXED MEDIA canvases!
I took a 12x12 primed canvas...and layered it with wallpaper samples, and stitched on vintage BARKCLOTH couple...along with a vellum bible verse from my stash...some vintage lace and applique' cut from an antique wedding dress...along with antique mother-of-pearl buttons.
I started with the ULD MR&MRS and then went back with the  ULD curley corners and frames.

I painted and embossed the MR &MRS and decided to leave the swirly-o's "naked"....because this product stands beautifully on its's own!!
As a DT member, I receive product...however...I have to say...I am soooooooooooooo in LOVEEEEEE with Unique Laser Designs..that I have just placed an order ( and received lickety-split!) to use in many of my up-coming ART canvases and blocks for my shows!
The "cabinet card" is from the Tim Holtz line(uber fun!)...and works well with this vintage theme!
StudioBeeCreations is always available to do special works of art and one-of-a-kind gifties!

Hot Air Ballons are Hip, Hot, and Huge!

Trends, Fads, Hot, or in style.. which ever way you look at it.. Hot Air Balloons are totally  hip.

I see them on fabrics, scrapbook paper, stickers, pins, stamp sets and of course Unique Laser Designs has a wood Hot Air Balloon embellishment that I just love!  I want to put it on everything.  So I did..

I made a tag, a mini album, and a wall décor project.  I have also taught one class using the hot air balloons, and everyone wanted more.  Here is a look at 3 of my projects I created using the Hot Air Balloons along with a few other embellishments from Unique Laser Designs.

Here is my Glittered Up Hot Air Balloon, this hangs in my studio.. love all the Glitter~

I used this Hot Air Balloon on a cover of a mini album, along with a set of the clouds  & mini word art.
I stamped, added texture and used paper for this balloon.
Here is a more detailed project.  I used one of the ULD tags, 2 clouds, and another Hot Air Balloon.

Did you know ULD has wood stencils?  Yep.. I used it on this tag.. love how thick I can make the details
if I want.. or I can do less if I wanted, but I love the deep shape.

These are the ULD shapes I used on this project, along with the stenciled image.

I used my Rubber Café Glue and Glitter for the Balloon.
Do you love the Hot Air Balloons too?  If so stop over to the Unique Laser Designs shop and pick up a few.. you can't get just one.. because you will want at least two.  Did I mention they are only $1 each?  Yes.. how the heck can an embellishment this cute be only $1.. I just filled my cart with a few more since I have more ideas.  What would you do with your balloon?
