Recipe from the Past...

with my last posty as a Design Team member for

As soon as I saw the kitchen tools & spoons...I started designing this canvas piece.

I knew I had saved a recipe book given to me by my Mother-in-Law...

it was one of those church fund-raiser books where the ladies submitted their favorite recipes.

I thought this would make a GREAT gifty for family members for Christmas this year ( never too early to start!!)....I was able to copy many of the recipes submitted by Janet (MIL) and HER Mom...Marion Boldry.

We called her MoBo...and boy howdy could she cook!!

Using the awesome cut-outs from ULD...this will make a great memory piece for each family member.

I started with my Gelli & deli paper ( I can't stop myself!)....and decided to keep the ULD pieces "natural" and let the beauty of the wood show through. 

I will be placing my order for lots more of these super ULD products!

I was able to combine several ULD elements in this one framed mixed media piece.

I took a piece of chipboard and layered LOTS & LOTS of GELLI Deli paper that I created using techniques I learned last month with Stephanie Ackerman ( lovelovelove her!)

I played around with placement....which cut-outs to use (SOOOOOO many choices!!!)

Coloring ULD products is easy peasy!!!...use whatever you have in your stash!!

I am "BeeBee" to  Faith & Niah...so, I HAD to color up and include the fun bee ..

And my newest favorite GO TO white pen is this Sharpie Paint Marker.....

That fun Polaroid frame comes in 2 sizes!!!!...as do many of the products in the

Unique Laser Designs shop!!

I have always been a sewer...loveloveloved making doll clothes from bits'n pieces given to me by my "Nana" who was a world traveller...then as a student in high school home ec..had to make a dress....Calico with a zipper!!...So, when I saw the dress forms from ULD, I knew I had to have it!

Stamp set from RedLead....painting inspiration from Stephanie Ackerman.{ I recently took an art class with her...OMG...gelli printing on deli paper!...whooot!}..I created this 8x8 "repurposed"canvas....#usewhatyouhave

I made the skirt with a piece of vintage feedsack & trim from my stash.

...and doodled all over....and over.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

You have to lovelovelove this elephant puzzle piece from ULD!

My grandguy Myles is an animal expert!

If you are OH SO LUCKY to spend the day with him....@ the ZOO...you would appreciate his overwhelming knowledge of all the beautiful creatures found there!

Here is my layout:

This is my first-born GrandGuy Myles.....check out those beautiful blue eyes!!!

Myles absolutely LOVES animals...especially elephants!!!!

He lives close to the Greenville Zoo..in Greenville,SC...and nevernevernever tires of visiting the ZOO.

His Papa & Mama ( that would be us)..got a season pass...just so we could take him...and his brothers to visit his favorites.

Which is why...as soon as I saw the ELEPHANT puzzle from ULD, I knew I had to have it...to incorporate into a scrapbook layout.

soooooooo...Myles...we call him Smylie...loves to visit his friend "Joy" at the zoo....I have manymanymany pics thru the years(he just turned 10 yrs old) with Myles & Joy.

I also incorporated the "wordage" from the ULD blocks stencil and some heart cutouts.

As a member of the Design Team @ ULD....I am soooo very lucky to be able to create with this most awesome product!....The team is always open to new ideas and creative input!

I was able to use MANY pieces of ULD on this 2-page spread....PLUS...I used a tag I made from my Stampin'UP! demonstrator days...sweet!!

Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this guy.....

HE is my happy!!...he has my HEART!

LOVELOVELOVE all of their awesome product....adds "just the right" touch to my mixed media art pieces!

I have just taken a vintage bingo card from my stash, and after coloring with my FAVE Faber Castell Gelatos...some alpha pieces, stamps & paint...I paper pieced the sweet birdie. &.did some doodling.....

The music notes from ULD were the perfect addition!.....definitely will be ordering more of these!

I used the same process on one of my art blocks...just stamping "sing!" under the music paper branch.

...hey there!!....Debbie with StudioBeeCreations...

here I have my latest canvas using several

 UNIQUE LASER DESIGNS

pieces.....I am soooooo in love with this awesome product!

GREAT for cardmaking...scrapbooking and MIXED MEDIA canvases!

I took a 12x12 primed canvas...and layered it with wallpaper samples, and stitched on vintage BARKCLOTH couple...along with a vellum bible verse from my stash...some vintage lace and applique' cut from an antique wedding dress...along with antique mother-of-pearl buttons.

I started with the ULD MR&MRS and then went back with the  ULD curley corners and frames.

I painted and embossed the MR &MRS and decided to leave the swirly-o's "naked"....because this product stands beautifully on its's own!!

As a DT member, I receive product...however...I have to say...I am soooooooooooooo in LOVEEEEEE with Unique Laser Designs..that I have just placed an order ( and received lickety-split!) to use in many of my up-coming ART canvases and blocks for my shows!

The "cabinet card" is from the Tim Holtz line(uber fun!)...and works well with this vintage theme!

My Soul has Wings....

This is my mixed media canvas for my  Unique Laser Designs design team...using lyrics from a song that evokes fond memories from my years singing in high school chorus...using a hand-cut "feather" from vintage music paper, along with some canvas feather shapes...AND a beautifully cut feather from Unique Laser Designs!

Lots of layers on an 8 x 10 canvas..Bits & Bobs of trims and papers from my stash in my BEE HIVE studio....Swirly corner cut out from ULD....and paper mache' eggs all colored with my favorite Faber Castell gelatos....nesty is a vintage (YUM!!!!) jello/tart mold. Sweet little birdhouse charm dangles from one edge.

and all of their wonderful product!..I am OHSOHonored to have been selected to be one of the Design Team members for April-July 2014! - Unique Laser Designs is based in California and specializes in laser-cut craft items, made from MDF....with new products being added regularly...there is always something NEW & fresh!

I took the ULD tags ( a wonderful cut of 3.5" x 6.6") and used mixed media techniques to attach this toooooooo cool Tim Holtz idea-ology cabinet card onto a vintage dictionary page with the word BELIEVE highlighted. The cut-out BElieve in YOUrself is also by ULD.

And another tag:

Colored with Faber Castell Gelatos( OHMYGoodness...the YUMMYNESS!)...and paper pieced sailboat attached with mod podge.....The seagulls are also from ULD!

Soooooooooo many possibilities!!
